AGAM SEG Frame Used as a Display Solution for Company of GORE-TEX®

Jay Wallace, Owner of of j wallace, LLC worked with AGAM for a custom display solution.

Jay Wallace, Owner of of j wallace, LLC

Jay Wallace, owner of j wallace, LLC, located in York, Pennsylvania recently used AGAM for a successful project and was kind enough to share his   experience with us.

His customer, W.L. Gore & Associates was recently named on FORTUNE magazine’s 2012 list of “100 Best Companies to Work For.” They are well-known for their GORE-TEX® fabrics used in outerwear and footwear.

In the lobby of their Capabilities Center, they needed to deliver a positive and lasting first impression for their visitors.  W.L. Gore preferred something unusual, low profile and that didn’t emphasize a frame as much as an image.  There was also a little technical constraint, a need to cover existing metal brackets that were drilled into a brick wall.

Jay’s solution was to use two 125″ x 128″ AGAM aluminum frames with stretch fabric inserts.  This was not exactly what W.L. Gore had in mind at first. But in front of a six person committee, Jay used a 2’ x 3’ mini-prototype frame to demonstrate AGAM’s superior capabilities, including powder coating. The group quickly approved the customized solution that used extrusion FH451 with components being no longer than 6’ for the facilitation of shipping and handling.

Seth, Project Manager at AGAM, worked with Jay on the design and engineering of the custom frames.  A CAD drawing supported a detailed cut list, outlining the hidden ‘bracing’ system to prevent sagging of the frames.

Assembly was a breeze because with AGAM all components are cut to size, drilled, punched and only requires a set of hex keys. The frames were installed over the existing horizontal metal braces so Jay’s customer did not have to go through the hassle of removing anything.

Elegant, frameless and suspended off the wall, Jay’s work fulfilled the customer’s objectives who kindly shared photos with us.  One of their displays features a partial view of the globe while the other is a summary of W.L. Gore’s mission statement.  Jay said, “the cool thing about these frames are that they look like they are standing off of the wall a little bit, making it look even more 3 dimensional.”  Even a month after installation, Jay’s customer says everyone is still raving about them!

AGAM Works to Create Booth for EXHIBITOR2012

In six weeks, AGAM will be exhibiting at Exhibitor2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gearing up for a trade show is no little feat around here. But, because we manufacture an aluminum modular display system, it is pretty much guaranteed that we are going to have a cool booth right? Right! All the materials (minus the SEG fabric) and resources are available at our plant. From brainstorming to designing, building to shipping, it all happens right here.

Contributions to the Unique Design of the EXHIBITOR2012 Booth

Over the past couple of weeks, the booth has been design and the building process has begun. Another unique factor that plays into the creation of our booth is that everyone at AGAM will have contributed to the final product in some way.  Whether it is lending an innovative idea during the planning process or making a part during the building process, the final product is a team effort.

Our booth is 20 feet by 30 feet, featuring a hanging cube expanding our exposure and it is 20 feet high. We have 2600 square feet of SEG fabric graphics, backlighting, product kiosks, demo products, and a sample table featuring our extrusion portfolio. Our goal is to ensure that visitors gain quality insight on the services, innovative products and solutions that AGAM has to offer.

If you’re attending Exhibitor2012, March 5–7, 2012, come on by, we are at booth #1663. AGAM employees, Oscar, Theron, Troy, Tamas, and Justin will be present as well as Founder and President, Xavier Decludt. Stop by, we would love to meet you. See you in Las Vegas!

AGAM Extrusions that Work with the Oval CBX Punch

This oval “cut out/ punch out” allows a CBX Connector to slide easily in and out of these select extrusions: PH1005, PH1045, PH1038, PL1012, TR44, PH1080, PH2000, Slatwall, PH1003, PH1003-B, PH1070, PH1002, TR45, PH1035, PH1028, PH1036, and PH1076.

How the Oval CBX Punch Connects to Extrusions

Sliding the screw away from the CBX Connector sets it to the “in” position. This position is used for placement of the extrusion.

Once you’ve chosen the placement of your extrusion, it is time to secure it. Slide the screw toward the CBX Connector; this sets it to the “out” position.

AGAM Makes Front Page of Exhibit City News

AGAM Makes Front Page of Exhibit City News

Photographed by Exhibit City News, AGAM’s EuroShop Booth

“No matter what vision an exhibit designer has for the layout of a booth, there is an engineered aluminum extrusion that can help bring it to life.” And that is certainly the case with the AGAM Aluminum Modular System. We proudly showcase concise elements of our exclusive sustainable modularity while excelling in creativity.

On June 30, 2011, AGAM was featured on the front-page of Exhibit City News, the nation’s magazines that solely focuses on the meeting, convention and tradeshow industries.

AGAM’s custom-designed booth for the global trade fair, EuroShop, also made an appearance in this front-page article by means of a photograph that was taken on the showroom floor in Germany this past spring.

Straight from the Source — Let’s Talk with President of AGAM, Xavier Decludt

The Q & A below is an excerpt from the Exhibit City News story that featured key professionals in the aluminum extrusion industry. Our very own President, Xavier Decludt, discussed the trends, technology, and benefits of extrusion-based exhibit systems. Let’s see what he had to say:

What are the benefits of using an extrusion-based exhibit construction system?

Decludt: Extrusions can be used to implement any design or feature element can be imagined and recent design trends are making it a sought after solution for the modular industry. Extrusion can be integrated into existing material and be added on for a larger booth. Another major benefit of extrusions is a much lower operating cost for material handling, labor and freight.

How has the integration of fabrics/graphics changed over the last five years?

Decludt: Many conventional graphics are being replaced by silicone edge graphics (SEG) and new extrusions are always in development. Fabric is lightweight, durable and portable, which reduces the amount of metal that is visible. When fabrics are folded, they take up less storage space. When this is combined with the slim profile of extrusions, exhibits become a lot easier to handle.

What new products and design solutions is your company offering?

Decludt: Pliko is a no-tool folding frame that features a minimalist design and clearly defined edges. The 108-inch by 92-inch graphic area maximizes graphic exposure and the slim frame structure virtually disappears.

We also have a new FH 1490 extrusion system that can accommodate graphics inside and outside the cubes. If you hang such cubes, you double your graphic exposure without any additional hardware costs, and if you suspend such cube, your free valuable floor space is available for product presentation and customer interaction.

We have also developed the FH hybrid system, which has the ability to use a fabric frame or convert it for to a hard panel without acquiring new aluminum.

How has technology affected the extrusion industry?

Decludt: We have invested heavily during the past three years in building, machinery, equipment and software. We are one of the very few manufacturers able to offer a wide array of services to the trade, with more than 50 machines under one roof. Our customers come to us with unique design requirements to stand above the crowd, and we are able to respond quickly and efficiently to most of their challenges, giving them the competitive edge needed in today’s market place.

Can an extrusion system be used to build just about any design a client is looking to create?

Decludt: Extrusions are not always the best solution to a custom design, but the modularity of Aluminum Systems reduces design and engineering costs, and time to market is essential – only a modular system achieves that.
